Manufacturing Plants

Hartlepool, Victoria Dock Plant

JDR Cable Systems’ deep-water quayside manufacturing facility in Hartlepool is a key hub for the production of subsea power cables and umbilicals. Opened in 2009, this purpose-built, 100,000 sq ft site was the first in the UK designed specifically for subsea cable manufacturing, supporting offshore renewables and the oil and gas sector. Situated in Victoria Dock, with direct access to cable installation vessels, the facility has a strong track record in delivering Subsea Production Umbilicals, Subsea Power Cables, and Inter-Array Cables. Recent investments have enhanced production capabilities, including an upgrade to the Vertical Layup Machine (VLM), doubling its capacity from 65 to 100 tonnes. This expansion enables the manufacturing of 132kV dynamic cables, increasing JDR’s involvement in both static and floating offshore wind projects. With over 280,000 sq ft of space, Hartlepool is one of the world’s most advanced cable manufacturing facilities, providing cutting-edge solutions for complex subsea projects.
